Got a set of the new Goodyear MT/R's installed yesterday.  Today I bought some Jerry cans and a water container with moutning brackets so I can drive off into the mountains and/or desert without fear of running out of gas.   drive

on the Jeep: moving my steering box back about 2" & reinforcing frame rail
using a cast steel spacer that can be welded to frame, (thanks Fred), to eliminate some of the area for movement   fab
adding an additional brace tube to help stabilize steering box
probably going to have to replace steering pump as I think I burnt it up on the last run

on the Willys :   lowered the engine by about 3 inches, made new motor mounts, finished the shock towers & added rail bracing for steering box
trying to finish the exhaust & brake system in the next couple of weeks so I can get the body on

Worked on the Grand Wagoneer!  Changed the bearings and clutches in the rear Power Lock and installed a brand new Atlas 4 speed.  Tomorrow is for finishing the shifters, putting seats back in, and replacing the carb spacer and battery under the hood.  Thanks Dave and Pat for helping!

I got a friend for my 4Runner today.  This is a 95, AT, 132000 mi, CD, Sunroof, Roofrack, gray interior (same as my other 4Runner).  I got a great deal on it because the guy selling it said the motor was probably blown, it still runs but was really rough.  When we got it home last night and pulled one of the plugs the, cylinder was full of oil and water, no prizes for guessing what caused that.

The really amazing thing is I just picked up a motor that I was going to start rebuilding.  It still runs and just needs a couple of leaks fixed and a NOC sensor replaced.  Again, no prizes for guessing what I am doing for the next couple of weeks.

P.S.  I guess I am out of the 2009 4X 4Him Christmas Snow Run Challenge, but next year we will have two rigs.....

Here's a pic....

Yesterday was a good day for me and the Warpig.  dodusy First, I fired up the tubing bender and whipped out a grill hoop. I used 1 3/4" tubing. It basically follows the grill line. Decided not to go with a Stinger type guard this time around. Second my Poison Spyder rear corner guards came in the mail that I won on eBay a couple of weeks ago. And lastly. My 4" LED taillights showed up that fit in the corner guards.  agreement

Your funny Bro.  Grin Let me give you a little background. I started playing guitar when I was in 6th grade. Never really got that good, but I like playing. One of my favorite early guitarist was Tony Iommi from Black Sabbath. Over the next few years I learned how to play all the BS hits including two of my favorites "Ironman" and "Warpigs". When I was in High School, I was playing Ironman one day on my Stratocaster and some friends stopped by.  Elvis That name sort of stuck with me since then. And keeping with the theme, Warpig seemed fitting for a big white Jeep.  drive

Yesterday, it was more like what what my rig attempted to do to me, kill me.....

I was driving home, doing about 55 when my front passenger beadlock ring sepperated (weld cracked and broke away) from the wheel causing my Jeep to fly off the road out of control.  Luckily I missed the pole and there was enough room for me to coast to a safe stop in the very soft ground without runnig through the fence and into the cannal.  Needles to say I was very glad to be safe.  Now Im on the lookout for a new set of wheels to get me though until I can find a set of STEEL beadlocks, no more aluminum.

New iPhone takes pretty good pics for a cell phone...

Wow Bro! That's messed up.  What brand of beadlocks are those? If your looking for another set and want steel, go with Allied. I'm running their "Rockathons" and absolutely love them. I have wheeled the wee out of them with no issues what so ever. Also if you need another set of rims to get you buy until you can get the wheels you want, give me a call. 709-5890. I have a set of stock Jeep wheels you can use.

Finished the new grill hoop and got it all painted. Here's some pics. The first one is the old setup that Jake bought. The second one is the winch mount with the new 9.5ti on it. The third is the winch mount with the grill hoop after it was bent. The fourth is with the grill hoop welded and painted.

Took the tarp and Christmas lights off of the Jeep the other day in hopes of putting the top on. Top is still sitting in the house, Jeep is still uncovered. Goal is to put the top on and take care of much needed maintenance in the next couple of months so I can get a snow wheeling trip in sometime this season dodusy

Installed the  http://www.hdoffroadengineering.com/  leaf spring drop bracets on the mommy-mobile Cherokee. They're only bolted on right now, I wanna fine tune everything before burning them on.....

Of course now my shocks are too short, my brake line is marginal, and I need to re-do my bumpstops to stop the leaves from going negative.

Now I need to go find a loading dock to flex it out and take some pics.....

I got my jeep running!!!
last night i finely figured out my brake problems and got my steering hooked up! ralleytowel
I took it for a test drive and... I need to tune my Carb asap!
my steering is workable...
i am not comfortable with the way it is set up at the moment but i can not afford to do a high steer system yet.
i needed to get it on the road so i can register it and drive it around and find out all the kinks.

now that all the big stuff is done i get to work on all the small stuff...like a passenger seat. ( i think i'll just make em set in the back)

Both rigs got washed up real good, changed the oil in mine and lubed her up.  Even washed the mother in laws car.  Although after I washed the cars I found out it is supposed to rain but oh well they look good for now.

Also started to get my stuff together for this weekend and am realizing that a Cherokee just does not have that much space for anything.  Now I need to find some chains.

....A little late, but Thursday I went out in the morning and got a wee little bit of powder blue paint on the bottom of my rear bumper.   Grin

I was the latest victim of a Toyota that couldn't stop, the poor little car went right under my bumper at about 10 MPH when traffic stopped on 41.  Jeep is fine (Hanson makes tough bumpers), the car on the other hand needs a new hood (at least).

Worked more on the Dana 44. So far I have cleaned the axle up pretty good; trying to get it to bare metal and then I'll paint it ( that way if Dahondagod is ever near it he doesn't have anything to paint pink  Grin ). Getting the outers off is a chore; need a spindle nut socket and a big wrench for the nuts that hold the outers on. About a third the way through grinding the welds off the passenger side wedge. All in all pretty good for never doing this before.  2 Thumbs up
