Mirror Lake

Jose Basin was shown to us by a local. Robert Johnson of Christian Four Wheelers live right in Auberry, just 15 minutes away from Jose Basin. This is truly his back yard. The trial has several creek crossings and a lot more rocky terrain than you would think. Here are the directions to get there:

"From Prather take Highway 168 towards Shaver Lake. Turn left (approx. 1 mile) on Auberry Rd. to the town of Auberry. At the end of the town of Auberry the road will fork. Go to the right you will begin to ascend towards Meadow Lakes. Approximately 2 miles on the left will be Jose Basin Rd. Take the paved, windy road past Mono Wind Casino. Stay on Jose Basin Rd. for approximately 8 miles. Approximately 1.5 miles past the Italian Bar Rd. intersection, turn right go approx on half mile to a good place to base camp. From there Power Line road is just accross the creek."
